Not enough is said about www.craigslist.org it is the best website for local treasures. I always try to go to the free and barter section at least once a week. It's even a free source of entertainment for e.g. there's the ad for someone giving away a free possessed tv and someone selling their "man bike". It's a great place to find a house, job, local activities/classes or whatever your heart may desire.
