tired of the competition...

I used to love ebay and don't get me wrong it is great....sometimes. However, when people are willing to pay more than an item is worth than it makes me wonder if it's all about the game. The other day I was searching for restaurant gift cards on ebay. People were bidding on gift cards worth e.g. $20 with at least a day left and it was already at $25 not including shipping. I don't understand the point in throwing money away. I love a challenge, which is why I use ebay. I enjoy being able to say that I spent a significantly small amount of money for something. I know that the deals are still available on ebay, but why is it always a competition? To me, the game is all in the bargain.
